I'm very excited to announce that my debut novel, Renegat, will be released this coming August.
Renegat is the first novel in the Jupiter Skye Series. It's been a long time in the making.
I started developing this story world back in April 2018, as far as I can tell, and completed the first Jupiter story, "The Death Mask of Adlivun Cavus," in August 2019. "Death Mask," a short story, covered Jupiter's first official job. A second, longer story, "The Renegade Moon," followed in March 2021, and then I abandoned that pen name in favor of writing something completely different.
Despite having been set aside, Jupiter herself kept poking at me. The novel that later became Renegat began as a few sentences in January 2021 and grew steadily until late in 2025 when it finally gelled and was ready to be written. In January 2026, five years after jotting down the opening lines, I finally typed "the end."
During that time, the story world evolved from what I thought of as popcorn Space Opera -- fun, Space Western adventures somewhat akin to Firefly -- into a dark, character-driven Science Fiction Thriller containing shades of Noir, Biopunk, and a hint of Military SciFi.
Not exactly the lighthearted adventure I originally envisioned.
I'm not doing a long preorder for this one, but I can give you the official publication date: Thursday, 13 August 2026. If you're a member of my mailing list, you'll get a preorder notice in late July or early August as well as an "It's here!" email on August 13th.
I'll have more news as the publication date approaches, including a cover reveal, information on the remaining books in the series, and a surprise or two.
