While working on closing out my other pen names, I'm also spending some time developing and writing stories for this one.
One of the projects I brainstormed last year is a series of short story collections to use as exclusive content for newsletter subscribers. Each collection will contain four stories of varying lengths focused on a particular theme and genre. Most stories are likely to fall in the 5,000 to 10,000 word range, though some could be longer or shorter.
When I was brainstorming these collections, I used covers I already had stocked away as inspiration. "A Good Demon Hunter Is Hard to Find" (A City of Broken Souls Story) was inspired in part by a premade cover designed by Nocturne Art Covers. That's the cover gracing Night Shadows, the collection I'm working on now.
I've not finalized the selection of stories for Night Shadows yet. One will be a City of Broken Souls story, either "A Good Demon Hunter Is Hard to Find"[1] or a follow up. I'm working on two other short stories for the collection and am toying with ideas for a fourth.
Night Shadows' tentative release date is September 2025. It will be released directly to newsletter subscribers and will be exclusive there for a while.
